Who are we?

Founded by long-term friends Barney and Ben, sons was built with one simple goal: a cafe that feels like home — rooted in the neighbourhood, and leaving a lasting, positive mark on it.

Why sons

Two names, one idea.

The meaning behind our names shaped the foundation of sons: encouragement, warmth and community.

Inspired by the strong sense of togetherness that has long defined East London culture, we wanted to create more than just a cafe — somewhere welcoming, familiar and rooted in the neighbourhood around it.
